Dear Missionary Ventures Family,
Linda and I want to thank you for being part of the prayer and fasting going on around the world on the first Monday of each month. It is a beautiful thing to realize that all of us are crying out to the Lord. Psalm 130 says, “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.”
I am so grateful for the hunger among all the offices and the field, and I want to update you on Missionary Ventures and what God is doing within our ministry.
The leadership of Missionary Ventures realizes that mapping out the heart of God for our ministry will be through prayer, discernment, fasting, more prayer, and hearing the heart of God.
With this in mind, we have set the dates for the Regional Conferences in 2010. We value the field’s input and desire for the Regional Conferences to begin the process of building relationships, communication, prayer and dialogue on important opportunities within the Missionary Ventures’ family. You will be receiving information soon from your Regional Coordinator or Office Director in your region. You can mark these dates on your calendars for 2010.
· Central America: January 18th-22nd
· Southeast Asia: February 22nd-26th
· South America: April 26th-30th
· Dominican Republic and Haiti: May 26th-29th
· Africa: August 30th-September 2nd
In May, we finished our orientation/training, sending out 11 new field coordinators/specialists to Nicaragua, Argentina, Paraguay, and Ireland. Congratulations to Eric and Lyndsey, the first couple to ever get married during orientation. Our next training/orientation will be at our headquarters in Orlando from September 22nd to October 2nd, 2009.
MVI finances are starting to improve, and many of our donors are continuing to walk with us. We still have many opportunities for staff and finances around the world and need to continue to lift our current needs up to the Lord. Linda and I personally are very encouraged by what is happening around the world within the Missionary Ventures’ family, and we are thankful to the MV family that is so vital to the process of healing and growth that is taking place.
We recently returned from visiting six countries in Africa. After seeing so much destruction and suffering, it was very clear to us as many of these nations struggle with just living life, their faith and trust in God is something to behold. Whatever you’re going through today, realize God is allowing you to go through the fire to refine your faith, to trust Him no matter how difficult the situation. Sacrifice is not loss in God’s eyes; it is great gain.
Linda and I will be at the CMA International Conference in New Mexico this week, and then in July, we will be in West Virginia for another conference. CMA continues to be a beloved partner with Missionary Ventures.
Our new website is being tested now and should be available by the first of July. Melanie Duford, our Communication Director, and her team are doing an incredible job and deserves honor.
As we continue to serve the Lord together, may the favor of the Lord our God rest upon this ministry and may He establish the work of our hands.
We love you,
Glen and Linda Dubois
“And whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Jesus Christ.” Colossians 3:23,24
